Public Programs | American LGBTQ+ Museum

The American LGBTQ+ Museum will open the doors of our first physical gallery in 2027, within an extension of New-York Historical Society in Manhattan. But you don’t have to wait until then to experience queer magic with us!

Over the past two years, we have eagerly partnered with many organizations around the New York City and beyond to bring queer history to life. Join us for film screenings, panel discussions, performances, poetry slams, book talks and more at various partner locations across the United States. We hope to see you there!

Collaboration | Continuum

We’re proud to introduce “Continuum: Uniting Queer Artists Across Time,” a transformative series celebrating the enduring legacy of LGBTQ+ artists across different eras, a testament to the ever-evolving nature of our community’s creativity! Presented in partnership with the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art, this collaborative series serves as a dynamic bridge, connecting the impactful works of historical LGBTQ+ artists with the vibrant expressions of contemporary LGBTQ+ artists.

Traveling Exhibitions | Queer Justice

Queer Justice: 50 Years of Lambda Legal at the Forefront of LGBTQ+ Justice opened in New York City in 2023, and will make its way across the country to Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C.  and Dallas throughout 2024.

For 50 years, Lambda Legal has been at the forefront of the fight for LGBTQ+ rights. Their dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment have paved the way for progress and equality. Now, the American LGBTQ+ Museum is bringing their incredible journey to you.

Lavender Literary Society | ALM Book Club

Reading and reflecting together on our literature becomes a powerful act of empowerment, a catalyst for change, and a testament to the resilience of the LGBTQ+ spirit. Participants will be part of something extraordinary. In this book club, we’ll not only read, we’ll weave the threads of our stories into a tapestry of strength, resilience, and pride.
