Scarlet Gomez
Administrative Associate
Scarlet Gomez (she/they) joined the museum in April 2025. Prior to joining, Scarlet worked various roles providing administrative support to non-profits, restaurants, and restaurant startups. Now that she’s at the museum, she hopes to champion the Black and Indigenous voices of our collective history.
Scarlet is a queer Dominican Bronx-based poet, writer, zine-maker, and the founder of Poetry House, a queer writing collective providing quality, community care through arts education. She’s partnered with several organizations for workshops and readings, including iD Studio Theater, SAGE, and Callen-Lorde. Her work has been published in literary journals such as Philadelphia Stories, The A3 Review, and Femme Dyke Magazine; her most notable features include opening at the Rupi Kaur x KOTN Open Mic Night and performing at the NJ Dodge Poetry Festival in 2024. She’s a Hedgebrook alum.
When Scarlet’s not writing poetry, she’s working on her debut novel, No World Without You.
