50 Years CURED | Documentary Screening & Reception

This event has passed

Location: Columbia University Lerner Roone Arledge Cinema | 2920 Broadway New York, NY 10027

Event Details

April 1974 marks a monumental moment in queer history: the American Psychiatric Association removed the diagnosis of homosexuality from its manual of mental illnesses. This milestone represents a crucial victory for the queer liberation movement in the US and paved the way for subsequent strides in achieving equal rights.

Join us at the Columbia University Lerner Roone Arledge Cinema for a screening of the award-winning documentary CURED. Following the screening, our special guests [soon to be announced] will take the stage for a dynamic talkback celebrating the 50th anniversary of this groundbreaking moment in queer history.

Presented in partnership with the American LGBTQ+ Museum, the Columbia University GS Alliance, and CURED.
